Kirilovo

The village of Kirilovo is situated in the south-eastern part of Bulgaria, only 7 km from the town of Elhovo (municipality centre) and 2 km from a macadam road Elhovo – Yambol, 30 km from the regional town of Yambol and just an hour across the check point Lesovo is located - The Odrin /Turkish / and only 100 km from the sea town Bourgas.
The nearest village near the village of Kirilovo is the village of Boianovo. The village is of the present state since 1700 .
There is a large number of mounds and remains of ancient villages in the vicinity of the village of Kirilovo.
The south wind which blows along the valley of the Tounja River is characterized by high velocities. In the beginning of spring, this wind manifests itself in rapid warm gusts.
In spring and autumn, when the winds brings Black Sea air, fogs and low clouds often forme.
The Kirilovski artificial lake is situated in the land of the village of Kirilovo. It is suppling from the ' Koiymbunar' river. The artificial lake is built in 1958 years.
The north part of the region is characterized by a temperately continental climate. These peculiarities reflect the lowland-hilly character of the relief.
The average January temperature is about 0°С, the average July temperature is about 23оС, and the average annual temperature is 11-13°С.
The lack of high fencing mountains and the proximity of the sea determine northeast winds.
The average annual wind velocity is 3.3 m/sec.
